Bulldogs meet Republic in semifinals Kearney boys basketball will make its second straight appearance at the Class 4 Show-Me Showdown this weekend in Columbia. The Bulldogs (26-3, ranked No. 2 in the state polls) will meet Republic (20-8, unranked) in the state semifinals at 8:20 p.m. tonight, at Mizzou Arena. None of the Tigers stand over 6-foot-3 tall, which should give Kearney a big advantage inside with the likes of 6-9 senior Dillon Starzl and 6-7 senior Grant Cozad. In the other semifinal, which precedes the Bulldogs’ game at 6:40 p.m., defending state champion St. Francis Borgia (29-0, No. 1) puts its undefeated record and 45-game win streak on the line against Soldan International Studies (22-5, No. 4). Results will be posted later tonight.
